Oh my, Stephen! I re-read your piece and found it even more compelling on the second read. What a scary medical story, though with a happy ending. Hoping you're continuing to make healthy changes? I've been on the fence about buying an Apple Watch, thinking it would connect me even more intimately to the news of the day, but had overlooked the potential health benefits.
Please keep writing your blog. I enjoy it immensely.
Great piece Stephen. I have AFib notification turned on and there’s been a couple of stressful times I felt my heart a little crazy, even did an Apple Watch ECG but all OK. Glad to know it worked for you. I have also been measuring my HRV every morning for 6 years (not with Apple) so I am across my heart health.
without the privilege of your app you would have died or not quietly at home.. Would will you get the same care if you present for app-based false alarms? What lifestyle changes are you making?
When I had an AVM bleed i knew the moment the thunderclap headache started that my brain was bleeding {in 27 places} and that we were boned. Two day hospitalization then discharged to street at 1am to squat in a parking structure until aneurysm surgery. indigent wfh ic medical transcriptionist.
