Story No. 6 of my 35,000 mile road trip into the 2020 pandemic. Stormy, 17, talks about race, his own homelessness and what it would mean to be a writer.
I think you may underestimate the impact your comments may have had on Stormy. Your empathy is palpable in the interview, and your questions probe what you immediately grasped was a deep-thinking individual. His lack of response may just have been his introversion or a 17-year old who wasn't used to being heard. Well done, Stephen.
I have to agree completely with Chris. This is such a moving, and heartbreaking interview. Through it I feel connected to this beautiful young soul. Great work.

This was very nice to receive, and made me rethink it a bit. I really liked Stormy and hope to look him up one of these days.
By all means follow up!

So glad to read your comment about my talk with Stormy. I found him to be a great kid.
